Head Start Sports Summer Camps
A Focus on Youth Program
Our summer camps operate daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Holy Names Secondary School located at 1400 Northwood Street in south Windsor. Extended care hours are also available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The school features a triple gym plus spacious outdoor sports facilities including a soccer field and a football field. The school is located just two minutes from the E.C. Row at the Dominion Boulevard exit.
All our camps are open to girls and boys from ages 5 to 14. At every camp, the children will be divided into groups based on their age and skill level. The activities will be modified for each group to ensure that everyone feels successful and has a great time learning something new! No previous playing experience is necessary.
Age-appropriate instruction will be used to teach the fundamental skills required to play each sport and children will have the opportunity to use those skills during practice and game play. For more experienced players, advanced skill and strategy sessions will be employed.
We strive to help children improve their skills and knowledge of the game so they can build self-confidence, enjoy playing the sport, and have all kinds of fun while being physically active!
The camps will include skill instruction and game play, fitness and literacy activities, traditional and new board games, outdoor games, and a whole lot more!
All the required sports equipment will be provided. Parents are asked to send their children with lunch, snacks, and water each day. All our camps are NUT-FREE. Lunch is at 12:00 p.m. in the cafeteria and snack breaks are held at 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.
The regular price is $125.00 for five full days of fun under the guidance of Head Coach Ryan Hoy who has 18 years of experience as a sports educator and coach. Ryan has taught more than 300 physical education classes in his career and has coached more than 100 teams. He will be joined by Assistant Coach Krisha Caronongan who has worked for Head Start Sports for four years. Three additional instructors will join them.
Camp staff will be available for those parents who require extended care for their child from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Regular programming begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. The price for extended care is an additional $25.00 per week.
Daily rates are available. Please contact us for more information.
Please visit the Sign-up page to register! Spaces in each camp will be limited so registering sooner, rather than later is highly recommended to secure a spot. We make an effort to keep the staff to child ratio at 1:12.
